Winpopup LAN Messenger – Messenger for your Local Network
Thanks to the internet, you can easily communicate with others. You can for example send someone an email, you can lookup his Facebook profile and post a comment, or you can take it up a notch and take to other in real time with an instant messaging application (commonly referred to as messengers).
The problem with most messengers is that they do not work when your internet connection is down. Which raises an interesting question: what if you do not have an internet connection? Sure, you have a local network and several other people on the network, but you do not have access to the internet. What do you do then?
The answer to that question is simple: you use an application that allows you to talk to the other people on the network regardless of the fact that you are not connected to the internet. Such an application is the Fomine Software-developed Winpopup LAN Messenger. Here is what you can expect to get from this application, from a functionality point of view:
- Doesn’t need a server to work
- Talk to all the people on the network in realtime
- Send attached documents to other people on the network
- User status options
- Better express yourself with emoticons
- All conversations are logged for later reading.
- Winpopup LAN Messenger has multilingual interface: English, Deutsch, Español, Italiano, Français.
Before you go get Winpopup LAN Messenger, take a look at these technical details:
Download – the download weighs in at 1.3MB, which is good news. It means that even on a less than spectacular internet connection, the download will take very little time to complete.
Installation - Winpopup LAN Messenger should work fine on just about any version of the Microsoft-developed Windows operating system.
Limitations – you can use an unregistered version of Winpopup LAN Messenger for evaluation purposed for a period of 90 days. When this trial period ends, you either have to register the application, or use no more than three Winpopup LAN Messenger clients on the same local area network.
